# ZedSuite Trademark and Brand Policy

The ZedSuite source code is free software, licensed under the
[GNU GPL-3.0](LICENSE). **That license covers the code only.** As permitted
by GPL-3.0 section 7(e), no rights are granted — expressly or implicitly —
to the ZedSuite brand, which remains the exclusive property of ZedPerf:

- the name **"ZedSuite"** (and confusingly similar names),
- the **ZedSuite logo** (`public/zedsuite-icon.svg`, the application
  icons in `src-tauri/icons/` and any derivative of them),
- the product identity used by official builds (window title, installer
  name, `com.zedsuite.app` identifier).

## What you may do

- Use, study, modify and redistribute the **code** under the terms of the
  GPL-3.0 — including commercially.
- State truthfully that your project is *"based on ZedSuite"* or a
  *"fork of ZedSuite"*, with a link to the official repository.
- Keep the required copyright and license notices intact (the GPL itself
  requires this).

## What you may not do

- Distribute a modified build under the name **ZedSuite** or any
  confusingly similar name.
- Use the ZedSuite logo, mascot or icons in a fork, a rebuilt installer,
  a website or a store listing.
- Present your build in a way that suggests it is official, endorsed, or
  the origin of the project.

**In short: fork the code freely — but ship it under your own name and
your own logo.**

## Official builds

The only official distribution channel is
**<https://github.com/LeZed97/ZedSuite/releases>**. Builds obtained
anywhere else, under any name, are not official and are not supported.

## Reporting misuse

If you find a project or build that violates this policy (rebranded
copies claiming authorship, official-looking clones, etc.), please open
an issue on the official repository. Violations are enforced through
GitHub takedown procedures (trademark misuse and/or GPL copyright
violation when notices are stripped).
